Industry 4.0 Experience for Metal Formers and Fabricators Event
Wiegel utilizes press-monitoring systems to track running machinery and equipment, along with camera vision systems and in-die sensors used for the electronic detection of slugs for in-line production processes. As Aaron explains, knowing your machine utilization, OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), is one of the most important KPIs to track and address. It is real-time data points like this that have streamlined production processes and have been instrumental in identifying issues and driving continuous improvement for Aaron’s manufacturing. As a positive result of this technology, Aaron has seen Wiegel’s uptime machine hours increase by 64% and OEE score increase by 30% since 2019.
Aaron has ditched the clipboard, tracks all of his performance metrics in an electronic database, and understands the power of IoT and instantaneous/real-time data on his plant floor to measure production efficiency and output. Today he integrates some of the best IoT technology throughout his operations.
