On January 7, 2019, Wiegel hosted U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth for a facility tour of their metal stamping operations and an executive meeting to discuss what needs to be done to grow the manufacturing workforce in Illinois and nationwide. Senator Duckworth and Wiegel owners, Aaron Wiegel, Erica Wiegel and Ryan Wiegel discussed the importance of improving career and technical education in schools, getting manufacturing apprenticeships more popular in businesses throughout the industry and greater known to the general public and encouraging more veterans into the field of manufacturing.
